Today, New York State Assembly Minority Leader Brian M. Kolb (R,C,I,Ref-Canandaigua) (at podium) spoke at a press conference offering his support for legislation to repeal elements of the SAFE Act for areas outside of New York City. The legislation is sponsored by Assemblyman Marc W. Butler (R,C,I,Ref-Newport) and Sen. Rob Ortt (R,C,I-North Tonawanda).

"The SAFE Act is the worst piece of legislation I've seen in more than 16 years as a legislator. Repealing components of it outside of New York City applies a reasonable fix to a severely flawed bill," Leader Kolb said. "We need to finally recognize the dramatically different landscapes within our state. I applaud Assemblyman Butler and Sen. Ortt for their efforts to address regional disparities and restore the Constitutional rights of law-abiding gun owners."
