Today, as we reflect on Governor Pataki’s impressive legacy, we are reminded of how he led New York through the most difficult period in our history. From the attack on America’s largest, most important city, to the turbulent times that followed, and into the beginnings of restoration, the Governor has displayed exemplary leadership and integrity. Today, we are safer, prouder and stronger than ever.

It is also important to remember his many proactive successes of the last decade. Under the Governor’s leadership, we have made great strides in fighting crime, terrorism and taxes. We have made significant investments in technology and education, and instituted new pro-growth policies that will influence our economy for many years to come.

As I reflect on the last few years, it has been both a pleasure and an honor to work closely with Governor Pataki. I look forward to continuing a productive relationship for the remainder of his term and beyond. Throughout his career the Governor has had only the best interest of all New Yorkers at heart.

As for the future, I wish Governor Pataki all the best in any endeavor he decides to pursue.
