Speaker Heastie Continues Annual Statewide Tour in South Buffalo with Assemblymember Burke, Announcing $500,000 for Cazenovia Park

Speaker Carl Heastie continued his annual statewide tour today with Assemblymember Patrick Burke in South Buffalo, touring the neighborhood and announcing $500,000 for Cazenovia Park.

“I want to thank Assemblymember Burke for inviting me along today to visit the neighborhood he grew up in,” said Speaker Heastie. “The Assembly Majority believes all communities should have easy access to outdoor green spaces and Assemblymember Burke has fought hard to make sure the funding was available to restore this historic park for his community.”

“South Buffalo will always be my home,” said Assemblymember Burke. “I’m committed to providing the Buffalo Olmsted Parks Conservancy the funds needed to ensure our parks are restored and preserved for future generations to enjoy.”

Speaker Heastie and Assemblymember Burke met for a walking tour of South Buffalo to visit the neighborhood where Assemblymember Burke grew up, ending their tour with Cazenovia Park to meet with Executive Director Buffalo Olmsted Parks Conservancy Catie Stephenson. Cazenovia Park has provided the South Buffalo community an incredible outdoor green space for over a century. The funding announced will help the Olmsted Park Conservancy complete much needed restoration and preservation.
