Statement from Assembly Speaker Carl Heastie

The Assembly Majority has passed a number of important voting reforms to strengthen our electoral system and provide easier access to all New Yorkers. The situation regarding the tabulation issues in New York City is extremely concerning, and we are closely monitoring this situation. The Assembly will always work to ensure that the New York City Board of Elections, as well as all local county boards of elections, are operating at the highest level so that voters can have confidence that their votes are being counted accurately.
