Today I had the privilege of delivering over 300 coats, boots, hats, and gloves to local school districts throughout the 100th District. This is an initiative that I have been doing for years. The pandemic has increased the need for many people in the community for everyday essentials. Having warm clothes in the winter is so important for the health and wellbeing of our children. I am happy to have been able to work with the anonymous donor to help make this year’s coat delivery a success!

Agnes Van Put is a wonderful person and is always doing so much to help the community. When she told me on her 104th birthday that a helicopter ride was on her bucket list I knew I had to make it happen. Thanks to the incredible generosity of Michael Croissant and Swinging Bridge Marina we were able to make Agnes’ wish come true. It has been a hard year for all of us but seeing Agnes happy today shows that we can always work together. I would just like to again thank Mr. Croissant and Mr. Holland for a fantastic ride, and even greater generosity!

"September is Recovery Month. I was proud and honored to stand with RECAP, Catholic Charities Community Services of Orange and Sullivan County, and some of our community's greatest advocates – men and women who work tirelessly to help people living with addiction and mental illness. This fight takes commitment and dedication from everyone in our community because there is nobody whose life has not been touched. Together we are stronger. Together we can make a difference in the lives of those who are suffering from the disease of addiction. Together we can lend a helping hand to the family members who are striving to ensure that their loved ones receive the care and support they need. Prevention works; treatment is effective; and people do recover."

Every day, nearly 100,000 of our friends, neighbors, and family members who volunteer in the fire service put their lives at great risk to protect us. Too often, these heroes survive a fire, only to suffer the consequences of inhaling toxic, carcinogenic chemicals during a fire and are diagnosed with cancer. Aileen is proud and honored to sponsor legislation that would provide presumptive cancer coverage to our volunteer firefighters ensuring that, if they are diagnosed, their care is covered.
