Goodell, Highway Superintendents Prepare For Upcoming Construction Season

Assemblyman Goodell meets with local highway superintendents to discuss status of Chautauqua County’s roadways

Assemblyman Andy Goodell (R,C–Chautauqua) recently met with representatives from the New York State County Highway Superintendents Association, Inc. The Highway Superintendents were at the Capitol to discuss the rising cost of road maintenance and voice support for increased Consolidated Local Street and Highway Improvement Program (CHIPS) funding.

“Local roads and bridges make up 87 percent of the state's roadways,” said Goodell. “In these difficult economic times, I continue to advocate for Chautauqua County towns receiving their fair share of CHIPS funding. I appreciate the creative ways that our local highway superintendents continue to hold the line on cost while still performing essential roadway maintenance.”
