Assemblyman Andy Goodell (R,C–Chautauqua) recently highlighted the impact the newly-created NY Works Accelerated Bridge and Pavement Preservation program will have on Chautauqua County during the upcoming construction season. Under the program, Chautauqua County roadways will be in line for $4.5 million in transportation aid.

“This investment will bring much-needed relief for those who rely on these roads to get to work and take their kids to school,” said Goodell. “I want to thank Governor Cuomo for his commitment to Western New York communities demonstrated by this investment.”

NY Works was established during the recent passage of the state budget. The NY Works Accelerated Bridge and Pavement Preservation program works to immediately create jobs while also addressing critical infrastructure needs. Projects will be consolidated under regional contracts in an effort to create greater efficiency and savings in the process.

The following roadways in Chautauqua County will see aid under the NY Works Accelerated Bridge and Pavement Preservation program:

• US 20 from Westfield to the Brocton East Village Line – $800,000
• NY 953B (Strunk Rd.): Rt. 430 to I-86 – $70,000
• NY 394: Gerry Levant Road to Kennedy – $400,000
• NY 394: Rte 20 to Mayville North Village Line – $465,000
• Rt 426: I-86 to end Rte. 426/Rte. 430 overlap – $120,000
• US 62: Frewsburg to Hartson Road – $1,250,000
• NY 76: Rte. 20 to Rte. 5 – $100,000
• US 62: I-86 Ramps to Schermerhorn Corners – $660,000
• US 62:Hartson Rd. to I-86 Ramps – $700,000
