WNY Children’s Psychiatric Center One Step Closer to Safety
Yesterday, Assemblyman Angelo J. Morinello (R,C,I,Ref-Niagara Falls) and his colleagues in the Legislature voted unanimously to keep the Western New York Children’s Psychiatric Center in West Seneca open. The vote will ensure a separation between the Children’s Center and the Buffalo Psychiatric Center.
“I am proud to have taken part in taking steps to keep the Children’s Psychiatric Center in West Seneca open,” said Morinello. “If we are to provide the best environment for children to get the help they need, the separation of children from adults is crucial. By banding together, this Legislature recognizes the importance of a child-specific facility in western New York, and we are giving these children every chance to receive the care they need.”
The bill, which has now passed the Senate and Assembly, must go to the governor for his consideration.
