Assemblyman Santabarbara Supports Ukrainian Community, One Year Out from Russia’s Invasion
“One year ago, Russian forces invaded the nation of Ukraine, starting a war that has caused widespread devastation, displaced thousands of Ukrainians from their homes and taken far too many innocent lives. I stand with Ukraine and many Ukrainian American families and friends that live here in NY and in my Assembly district and their loved ones still in Ukraine, and I honor their strength and courage during this tragic time.
“On Saturday morning, Feb. 25, priests from several of our region’s Ukrainian churches, including Amsterdam’s own St. Nicholas Ukrainian Catholic Church, will hold a special Moleben service at the Cathedral of the Immaculate Conception in Albany to commemorate the war’s victims and pray for its end. This service is open for all to attend and will be collecting donations for Ukraine.”
