Assemblyman Angelo Santabarbara, a long-standing member of the Gabriele D'Annunzio Lodge #321 Order Sons of Italy in America, will host a reception in honor of the Consul General of Italy in New York, Fabrizio Di Michele, in his hometown of Rotterdam, NY on Sunday. Lodge #321 is the largest Sons of Italy lodge in New York State.

Consul General Fabrizio Di Michele is an Italian diplomat with 28 years of experience in the field of international relations.

Born in Palermo, Italy, the Consul General graduated from the University of Florence and joined the Italian Foreign Service in 1995. He has served at the Secretariat of the General Directorate for Emigration and Social Affairs, the Embassy of Italy in Kinshasa in the Democratic Republic of Congo, the Italian Embassy in Beijing in the People’s Republic of China, the Cabinet of the Foreign Minister, the Permanent Mission of Italy at the European Union, as Chair of the Maghreb-Mashreq Working Group of the European External Action Service in Brussels, the General Directorate for Political and Security Affairs of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs as the Italian Envoy for the International Coalition and the Directorate for the Russian Federation, Eastern Europe, the Caucasus and Central Asia.

Fabrizio Di Michele became the new Consul General of Italy in New York on April 2, 2021.
