Assemblyman Angelo Santabarbara announced that the New York State Department of Veterans' Services now has available Veterans' Services Benefit Advisors who are prepared to offer essential support to veterans in completing applications, acquiring necessary documentation, and filing claims for veterans' benefits. This initiative aims to ensure that veterans receive the assistance they deserve and are fully aware of the benefits and resources available to them. Assemblyman Santabarbara, long-standing member of the New York State Assembly’s Committee on Veterans Affairs and veteran of the United States Army Reserve, co-sponsored the bill to elevate the state Division of Veterans’ Services to a department-level agency with a commissioner (A.9006-C) that was included in the 2022 state budget.
