Assemblyman Angelo Santabarbara Presents NYS Assembly Citations: At 12:15 PM, Assemblyman Angelo Santabarbara will honor a special group of individuals at St. Gabriel's Church on Hamburg Street. The Assemblyman will present New York State Assembly Citations to the dedicated nuns who once taught at St. Madeleine Sophie Church. These remarkable women, known as the Dominican Sisters of Sparkill from Rockland County, NY, played a vital role in the community by opening, operating, and teaching at St. Madeleine Sophie School on Carman Rd. (Hamburg Street extension) from the early 1960s through the mid-1980s.

The sisters, despite being mostly in their 80s, are determined to drive themselves up to Rotterdam for this special day.
