Assemblyman Angelo Santabarbara to Recognize Schenectady High School student Alyssa Cook at a “Wing Ceremony”
Assemblyman Angelo Santabarbara, long-standing member of the New York State Assembly Committee on Veterans Affairs to recognize Schenectady High School student Alyssa Cook at the Air Force JROTC Wing Ceremony on Tuesday, September 19th, at 11:00 AM in the Schenectady High School Auditorium.
Alyssa Cook has achieved a remarkable 4.1 weighted GPA, excelling academically, and has demonstrated exceptional leadership and teamwork as a two-year starter on the girls lacrosse team She has accumulated 150 hours of community service, earned a bronze star in the Presidential Fitness Test, and served as Color Guard commander, overseeing 52 successful events. Alyssa was also chosen as the Vice Corps Commander for 2023- 2024. In an impressive international achievement, Alyssa was one of 300 cadets selected globally to participate in the Flight Academy, where she earned her Private Pilot's License, a first for a Schenectady High School cadet. Alyssa aspires to attend a U.S. military service academy, exemplifying her commitment to serve her country.
