Assemblyman Angelo Santabarbara Announces Annual Student Cabinet Meeting on AI in Schools
Assemblyman Angelo Santabarbara is pleased to announce the convening of the annual 2023-2024 Student Cabinet Meeting, providing an invaluable platform for young constituents to engage directly with the state legislative process. As part of his ongoing commitment to empowering youth voices, Assemblyman Santabarbara initiated the Student Cabinet program, which has seen remarkable growth each year, offering students a unique opportunity to advocate for issues affecting their future.
This year's meeting will take place on Monday, May 20th, 2024, in Hearing Room B of the Legislative Office Building at the Empire State Plaza at the Capitol in Albany. The focal point of this gathering will be a mock legislative hearing addressing the pertinent topic of "The Use of AI in Schools."
The mock hearing will be facilitated by students, who will have the opportunity to interact with Dr. Michael J. Doughty, Assistant Superintendent of NERIC, and Michael Silvestri, Schenectady High School Teacher and President of the Schenectady Federation of Teachers.
