New York State Assembly Speaker Carl Heastie continues his annual statewide tour, joining Assemblyman Angelo Santabarbara for a tour of the Crossroads Center for Children. The visit will include an overview of the construction site for the new facility, which will expand the school’s mission to provide children with and without learning disabilities the opportunity to grow and thrive together.

The new site will enhance the school's ability to serve children diagnosed with autism, as well as students with general education needs through its preschool and daycare programs. The integration of children with and without special learning needs has been shown to be beneficial for all learners, fostering tolerance and empathy.

Assemblyman Santabarbara, who is a father of a son with autism, has a personal connection to the Crossroads Center for Children. His son, Michael, attended the school as a young student.
