Local Veteran Honored at Amsterdam Mohawks Game
Assemblyman Angelo Santabarbara, who served in the US Army Reserve for eight years from 1990-1998, had the pleasure of honoring James J. Galarneau, Sr. at a recent Amsterdam Mohawks baseball game. Jim, who served in the US Navy from 1964 to 1970, was recognized for his service and awarded the Vietnam Service Medal, National Defense Medal, and Republic of Vietnam Campaign Medal.
At the bottom of the 3rd inning of the Amsterdam Mohawks game, Assemblyman Santabarbara presented Jim with a special recognition from the New York State Assembly and a flag in acknowledgment of his outstanding service to our country on the baseball field. The evening was made even more memorable by the enthusiastic support from the Amsterdam community.
"Thank you, Amsterdam, for your unwavering support of our veterans," said Assemblyman Santabarbara. "It's moments like these that remind us of the incredible contributions our servicemen and women have made."
