Assemblyman Santabarbara Announces $1.2 Million in State Funding at Ribbon-Cutting for Crossroads Center for Children’s New Facility
Today marked the official ribbon-cutting and grand opening of the new Crossroads Center for Children facility, where Assemblyman Angelo Santabarbara announced $1.2 million in state funding to support the completion of this state-of-the-art school. The funding will help expand the school’s mission to provide children with and without learning disabilities the ability to grow and thrive together in an inclusive environment.
"As a parent of a child with autism who attended Crossroads Center for Children, I understand the importance of ensuring every child has the resources they need to flourish," said Assemblyman Angelo Santabarbara. "My family and I know firsthand how important Crossroads is for students with autism and their families. I am proud to support the expansion of these life-changing services and help Crossroads reach even more young people in the future."
The Crossroads Center for Children is a private, nonprofit school that serves children diagnosed with autism from ages five to 12, as well as offering preschool and daycare programs for students with general education needs. Research has shown that integrating children with and without special learning needs in early education settings fosters tolerance, empathy, and a more enriching learning environment for all.
The $1.2 million in state funding secured by Assemblyman Santabarbara will enable the Crossroads Center to provide critical services to more children and families across the Capital Region. This expansion reflects his ongoing commitment to ensuring every child has the opportunity to reach their full potential in a supportive and inclusive setting.
"We are thrilled to open this new facility and expand our ability to serve the community," said Kelly Young, Executive Director of Crossroads Center for Children. "This funding will allow us to continue offering high-quality programs that make a real difference in the lives of children and their families."
The new facility will allow Crossroads Center for Children to increase its capacity and continue providing the essential programs and services that support children with autism and other learning needs, ensuring they have the tools necessary for success.
