“Today’s incident involving a New York State Trooper struck by a tractor-trailer on the Thruway is a stark reminder of the dangers our law enforcement officers face every day while working to keep our roads safe.
My thoughts are with the trooper and their family as they receive care at Albany Med. I’m hopeful for a full and speedy recovery, and I want to thank the medical professionals responding to this emergency.
This is also a clear reminder of why New York’s Move Over Law exists. When you see flashing lights — slow down and move over. It’s a simple act that protects the lives of those who protect us.”
