For the first time since the Regional Economic Development Councils were formed, both the Capital Region and Mohawk Valley have been named ‘Top Performers’ and have been awarded a combined $165.2 million. I’ve said it before and I’ll say it again – our area has the resources, the infrastructure, the high-quality workforce and the diverse industry sectors that make it a great place to do business and raise a family. The funding awarded will allow our region to capitalize our strengths and allow businesses to create and retain good-paying jobs.

I commend our Regional Economic Development Councils for the hard work they put in to submit such a strong plan and I will work continue to work with the Governor and my colleagues to make sure that our region receives the resources needed to keep moving forward.
