Assemblyman Santabarbara Secures Funding for Early Childhood Education Programs
Assemblyman Angelo Santabarbara helped secure more than $1.4 million in state funding for three pre-kindergarten programs in our region.
The Fonda-Fultonville Central School District will receive $271,872, Greater Amsterdam School District will receive $590,299 and Schenectady City School District will receive $608,541, with funding distributed through the state Education Department. The state aid was reserved for high-needs school districts that proposed pre-k programs.
“Early childhood education programs are a smart investment in our schools that are a critical part of creating a bright future in New York. I am committed to ensuring our schools have the resources they need to provide a quality education and this funding is part of my effort to create opportunities for our children to succeed,” said Assemblyman Angelo Santabarbara.
The disbursement of the funding is subject to the approval of the New York State Comptroller’s Office.
