Assemblyman Beephan Hosts 2 Mid-Hudson Libraries in Albany

Assemblyman Anil Beephan Jr (R,C-East Fishkill) recently welcomed representatives from the Dover Plains and LaGrange libraries to Albany for the annual New York Library Association (NYLA) Library Advocacy Day alongside the Mid-Hudson Library System.

Since taking office, Beephan has been a strong advocate for library funding throughout Dutchess County. Over the past three years, he has secured $160,000 in state funding for libraries across his district.

    • Beekman Library: $20,000
  • 2024 – $60,000
    • Blodgett Memorial Library (Fishkill): $20,000
    • Grinnell Library (Wappinger): $20,000
    • East Fishkill Community Library: $20,000
  • 2025 – $60,000
    • Pawling Free Library: $20,000
    • Amenia Free Library: $20,000
    • Dover Plains Library: $20,000

“Libraries are the backbone of our communities,” Beephan said. “They open doors to education, opportunity, and lifelong learning, and I’m committed to making sure our local libraries have the support they need to continue serving our residents.”
