Brown Denounces Swastikas in Merrick Playground

Assemblyman Ari Brown comments on recent incident of antisemitic hate symbols

Assemblyman Ari Brown (R-Cedarhurst) condemns in the strongest terms the recent incident of antisemitic swastika hate symbols that were graffitied on a playground in Merrick, New York. The Assemblyman stands united with fellow Assemblymember Dave McDonough (R,C-Merrick) against any form of discrimination based on religion or any other characteristic that seeks to divide our communities.

“Yet another example of the antisemitic attitudes that are on the rise in our state and country—this time on a playground in Merrick, New York. It is unacceptable to discriminate against anyone based on their religion or nationality, and it is time we put an end to this divisive rhetoric. Rep. Pramila Jayapal (D-Wash.), chairwoman of the Congressional Progressive Caucus recently drew outrage in the days before Israeli President Isaac Herzog’s speech when she publicly attacked Israel as a “racist state.” The Rise of antisemitic attitudes and hate crimes is deeply troubling, and I reaffirm my commitment to combating such bigotry in all its forms. I firmly believe the path to a stronger and more cohesive society lies in our ability to denounce hatred and discrimination unequivocally,” said Brown.
