Biography

Assemblyman  Billy Jones

Billy Jones was elected to the Assembly in 2016 to represent the 115th District, as well as the towns of Bloomingdale, Jay, Keene, North Elba, and Wilmington in Essex County.

After graduating high school, Billy ran his family’s dairy farm and has worked as a correction officer with the New York State Department of Corrections since 1996. Billy served as mayor of Chateaugay from 2009 to 2013 and as a Franklin County legislator starting in 2010, becoming chairman in 2013. During his tenure, Billy successfully reformed ethics laws to make government more transparent.

Billy is active with various organizations throughout the North Country, including the Chateaugay Rotary Club and the Malone Elks Lodge, and was a board member of the United Way of the Adirondack Region. Billy is also a member of the North Country Economic Development Council, where he has supported numerous projects that help local businesses grow the region’s economy.

In the Assembly, Billy’s legislative priorities are lowering taxes for middle-class families, improving the education system, rooting out government corruption and creating good-paying jobs so North Country families can thrive for generations to come.

Billy is the proud father of a daughter, Ella Liberty Jones, born on July 4th.
