“It’s encouraging to see Governor Hochul push Amtrak to restore the Empire Service train and keep this issue at the forefront. This closure has a direct impact on the North Country because it will delay the Adirondack service between New York City and Montreal but will also impact the entire state as well. I have been working on restoring these services over the past few weeks by having meetings with Amtrak officials and writing letters to NYSDOT, USDOT, and Amtrak. With over 2 million passengers on the Empire Service train, it is imperative we continue to work with the Governor and other state and industry leaders to restore these services.”
