The Finger Lakes Community Preservation Act Passes the Assembly
Assemblyman Brian Manktelow (R,C,I,Ref-Lyons) is pleased to announce the passage of a bill (A.5029) which would create the Finger Lakes Community Preservation Act. Should certain criteria be met, this would prohibit the issuance of a certificate of environmental compatibility and public need to construct or operate a new incineration facility in the Finger Lakes region.
Clean water is a valuable thing to have as its something we use on a daily basis for things such as cooking, drinking and cleaning, said Manktelow. This was a fantastic win for upstate New York as this will help save our environment and keep our Finger Lakes clean. It was great seeing state legislators coming together to make this happen. I applaud the Assembly Minority Leader Brian Kolb, Assemblyman Philip Palmesano and Sen. Pamela Helming for taking charge of this legislation and leading us to this victorious moment for upstate New York.
