Manktelow: Local Roads are Essential
A statement from Assemblyman Brian Manktelow (R,C,I-Lyons)
“Today, we once again gathered on the steps of the state Capitol to call for the restoration of $120.6 million in transportation aid cut from the previous year’s budget and the addition of funding to help better maintain local roads, bridges and culverts. We are also asking for an increase to the Extreme Winter Recovery funding, bringing it up to $100 million and to fully fund other programs such as CHIPS, BRIDGE-NY and PAVE-NY.
“As legislators, it is our job to make sure the budget process is done right and that we are able to provide proper funding where it matters most for New York. This includes making sure our local roads, which are essential in any community, receive enough funding to be properly maintained and to ensure efficiency and safety for all. Local roads are essential!”
