Statement from Assembly Assistant Majority Leader Charles D. Fall on the Beginning of Ramadan
Ramadan Mubarak to the entire Muslim community here in New York as we prepare to enter the holy month of Ramadan. For many, this month gives us the opportunity to self-reflect, practice patience and forgiveness, have compassion for the less fortunate and unite together as a community.
Our guidance and wisdom from faith leads us to the responsibility we have as human beings to one another, and to God. The universal values of giving generously and putting the needs of others before our own are exhibited this month, and throughout the year.
Through the daily act of breaking fast and sharing a meal, Ramadan revitalizes bonds and emphasizes community service. In this sprit, we reflect upon our mutual responsibilities for one another, regardless of faith, and strive to be the best version of ourselves.
I extend my sincere gratitude and wish you and your families a blessed month ahead.
