Assemblyman Charles D. Fall Condemns the Poway Synagogue Shooting
Yesterday another community was shattered by a senseless shooting in a house of worship. The shooting took place in Poway, California, a small suburb of San Diego.
A 60-year old woman protecting the Rabbi of the synagogue was killed. Rabbi Goldstein was also shot in the hand and two other worshippers suffered fragment wounds from bullet shrapnel.
Once again our country has experienced another senseless attack on innocent civilians in a place of worship. When are we going to realize that we worship the same God and come together as a nation to end these heinous acts of hate?
As we just celebrated Easter and Passover and with Ramadan approaching, why should we fear entering our places of worship? It is long overdue for our administration and lawmakers in Washington to pass effective legislation that will hinder these mass shootings from happening.
