Assemblyman Charles D. Fall (D-Richmond) through a concerted, bipartisan effort from Staten Island elected officials announce the reopening of the CityMD community health center located at 812 Forest Avenue.

The Forest Avenue site was temporarily closed to move staff to another location on the island, leaving a healthcare vacancy for the surrounding community. CityMD is an urgent care network that offers a wide variety of medical services, including physicals, injury related and illness diagnosis and care, rapid lab tests and screening, pediatric care and women’s wellness needs for some of the most vulnerable residents on the North Shore of Staten Island.

Assemblyman Fall penned a letter, signed by Borough President Oddo, Assemblyman Michael Cusick, Senator Diane Savino, Assemblyman Michael Reilly, Senator Andrew Lanza, District Attorney Michael McMahon, Assemblywoman Nicole Malliotakis, NYC Council Minority Leader Steven Matteo and Councilwoman Debi Rose to the CEO of CityMD requesting reconsideration of temporarily closing the Forest Avenue site to help staff another site in light of the fact that there is no public hospital on Staten Island and having residents who may be elderly, or lack transportation to travel to CityMD Richmond during heightened social distancing and Stay-at-Home order during the COVID-19 pandemic.

CityMD located at 812 Forest Avenue will reopen this Monday, April 20, 2020 with normal full-time operational hours.

I hope that we can all continue to work together to assure the residents of Staten Island remain healthy and safe during these most uncertain times dealing with this pandemic,” said Assemblyman Charles D. Fall.
