Statement by Assemblyman Charles D. Fall on Upcoming Observance of Religious Holidays
As we progress with the COVID pandemic, measures like wearing a mask and remaining socially distant are essential to prevent the spread of the virus.
With Eid-al-Fitr starting the evening of Saturday, May 23rd and ending the evening of Sunday, May 24th, marking the end of the Holy month of Ramadan, I am urging city and state government to allow with strict adherence of guidelines mosques or public spaces to reopen for those in the Islamic faith to observe.
If current COVID-19 guidelines allow us to enjoy public spaces in a safe manner, those same guidelines should be adjusted to accommodate religious groups during significant holidays. As a Muslim state lawmaker, I know that this accommodation will be met with the most highest of gratitude from my fellow brothers and sisters, said Assemblyman Charles D. Fall
