Assemblymember Lavine Distributes Covid Test Kits
GLEN COVE, NEW YORK – Assemblymember Charles Lavine (D-Glen Cove) is distributing much-needed supplies to help prevent the spread of COVID-19.A key component of the state strategy to stop the spread is testing and mask use.Over the last several days, Lavine has been handing out hundreds of COVID-19 test kits and KN95 masks at various locations throughout the 13th Assembly District including Glen Cove Senior Center; Long Island University, Brookville; St Paul's Episcopal Church, Glen Cove; Westbury Senior Citizens Center; the Yes We Can Community Center, Westbury; and additional organizations such as the Economic Opportunity Commission and North Shore Soup Kitchen in Glen Cove and St. Thomas Episcopal Church in Farmingdale. In addition, Lavine is accommodating individual requests as they come in and supplies last. While Lavine is encouraged by the latest statistics showing a significant decrease in the spread of COVID-19, he is still urging everyone to remain vigilant when it comes to following state health guidelines:
“Due to the uncertainty of this virus, it’s crucial that we keep our guard up and do all we can as individuals to prevent the spread of COVID.This means in addition to wearing masks and maintaining safe distances when indoor public places and in large crowds, getting vaccinated and boosted as well,” Lavine said.
