Assemblymember Lavine Sends Letter to Nassau County Executive Blakeman Urging Better Way to Negotiate with LIPA

Glen Cove, New York – Assemblymember Charles Lavine (D-Glen Cove) has sent a letter to Nassau County Executive Bruce Blakeman urging a more inclusive, and therefore more equitable and fair, method for the negotiations with LIPA relating to the taxation of power stations in Glenwood Landing and Island Park.

In his letter, Lavine expressed concern that any settlement will result in monumental property tax increases for Long Islanders living in those communities. He also pointed out that whatever decision is made, will have serious economic consequences to the people both Lavine and Blakeman represent.
