Lavine Hosts ERA Community Meetings
GLEN COVE, NEW YORK – With Election Day fast approaching, Assemblymember Charles Lavine (D-North Shore) will be hosting a series of community meetings to inform the public about a proposed change to the New York State Constitution. The New York Equal Rights Amendment (ERA) is on the ballot after being passed twice by the state legislature. Lavine will be joined by a representative from Planned Parenthood of Greater New York Action Fund at all the meetings to discuss and answer questions about the ERA.
“It’s my hope that these meetings will help get more people to vote,” Lavine said.“But as all of our rights continue to be threatened by the Supreme Court, it’s crucial that voters learn about this proposed change which greatly expands the number of people protected from discrimination,” he added.
