Assemblyman Charles Lavine Secures a $5,000 State Grant for Local After-school Enrichment Program

OYSTER BAY, NEW YORK – New York State Assemblymember Charles Lavine has secured a $5000 grant for Centro Cultural Hispano’s After-school Enrichment Program.

Centro Cultural Hispano (CCH) was organized in 1997 as a result of a grassroots movement by the Hispanic residents of Oyster Bay & East Norwich. The organizations mission is to work towards the educational, social, and economic development of the Hispanic community in Oyster Bay, East Norwich and surrounding communities through various programs, including an after-school program for local youth. The After-school Enrichment Program provides students with supervised activities including homework help, non-competitive games, sports, and cultural and civic enrichment activities.

“I commend Centro Cultural Hispano for all that they do to benefit our local youth,” said Assemblymember Lavine. “It is my honor to provide them with a grant to further develop their after-school program.”
