Tague Asserts Gov. Needs to Focus on the Real Issues Facing State
A Statement by Assemblyman Chris Tague (R,C,I-Schoharie) on Gov. Hochul’s State of the State address
“It is hard to believe that New York is in worse shape now than it was a year ago, but years into the COVID-19 pandemic our people are facing more uncertainty than ever. Even under a new governor, families and business owners continue to contend with burdensome one-size-fits-all mandates, our small businesses have continued to struggle and our farmers remain uncertain as to whether their multi-generational family businesses will be killed by a reduction in the farm laborer overtime threshold.
“Amidst all of this, the safety of our communities continues to be threatened as policies have tied the hands of both our judges and local health officials to do what’s right for their own communities. If Gov. Hochul truly wants to see brighter days ahead for our state, she should join us in undoing the disastrous work of her predecessor.”
