AG Letitia James Indicted for Mortgage Fraud

A statement from Assemblyman Chris Tague (R,C-Schoharie)

New York Attorney General Letitia James faces a federal indictment for mortgage fraud in the Eastern District of Virginia. The charges allege James misrepresented a Virginia property to secure favorable loan terms, exposing a staggering hypocrisy from the state’s top law enforcement officer.

Assemblyman Chris Tague (R,C-Schoharie) said, “For years, Letitia James has weaponized her office to chase political foes, preaching justice while apparently dodging it herself. The irony is rich; James built her career accusing others of fraud and now faces federal charges for allegedly lying on mortgage documents. I hope her jury is fairer than the president’s.”
