Tague Proudly Announces 4 Library Grants
Assemblyman Chris Tague (R,C,I,Ref-Schoharie) along with the New York State Library and New York State Education Department, is happy to announce that 4 libraries in the 102nd Assembly District will receive grants from the 2018 Library Construction Project. These grants aim to restore and modernize local libraries so they may continue to provide the keys to learning in their communities.
The Worcester Free Library in Otsego County will be updating and expanding the interior, Saugerties Public Library in Ulster County will be expanding its parking lot and establishing an outdoor programming space, Sharon Springs Free Library will be updating its CO2 detectors, and fire communication system and the Community Library in Schoharie County will be enhancing its public exterior and parking lot accessibility.
“I’m overjoyed at the attention our local libraries are receiving,” Tague said. “The magic of reading is something everyone should have access to and our libraries are central to keeping the spread of knowledge alive and well. Ensuring that they are properly supported so they can keep providing this service, along with keeping up with an ever-growing technological world, is something I will always stand behind.”
