Tague: Cuomo Fights For Women’s Rights …Until You Pay Him
A statement by Assemblyman Chris Tague (R,C,I,Ref-Schoharie).
Another chapter in New York’s saga of corruption unfolded yesterday after it was revealed that the probe into sexual predator Harvey Weinstein’s case was halted by Gov. Cuomo. Less than a week after the attorneys for Weinstein donated $25,000 to Gov. Cuomo’s re-election campaign, the news broke that the investigation would end.
“When Gov. Cuomo announced this summer he was pardoning convicted pedophiles so they can vote, I thought that was rock bottom for him, until today. The timing is just too convenient and I am disappointed that the governor can’t keep politics and greed out of such a cut-and-dried investigation. For someone who claims to be a champion of women's rights, this is the sort of hypocrisy that's become synonymous with the governor's eight years in office. We deserve so much better.
This comes on the heels from earlier this spring of Tague’s calls for the Governor to answer questions regarding suspicious campaign donations from Crystal Run.
