Assemblyman Chris Tague (R,C,I,Ref-Schoharie) stood with members of the Assembly Minority at a press conference at the State Capitol in Albany to protest the $75 million cut to the Consumer Directed Personal Assistance Program (CDPAP). The CDPAP is a Medicaid program which provides avenues of funding for receiving at-home care, thereby giving people more authority over their healthcare and how it is provided. These cuts would greatly hurt seniors and peoples with disabilities who need this program to function both at home and in their day to day lives.

“I’m proud to stand against these barbaric proposed cuts by Gov. Cuomo,” Tague said. “Why he’s going out of his way to steal funding that helps some of our most deserving citizens is beyond me. We need to be supporting these folks in every way we can, getting state government out of their way and letting them serve the people who need our help. I join the call on the governor to restore this funding immediately and not add more stress to people who are already struggling.”
