Assemblyman Chris Tague (R,C,I,Ref-Schoharie) and his colleagues in the Assembly Minority Conference wrote a letter to Gov. Andrew Cuomo calling for the re-opening of dental offices and resuming of dental work in New York state. The American Dental Association has created a plan for safely re-opening dental practices that has been shared with the Department of Health (DOH), and Tague is calling upon the DOH to act quickly in implementing this plan so patients can get much-needed work done to prevent infection, pain and irreversible dental damage from untreated problems.

“This isn’t about people being anxious about getting cosmetic work done, it’s about preventing very real medical complications that arise if dental problems are left untreated,” said Tague. “Dental practices already have some of the most stringent standards of any medical profession in regard to PPE and hygiene. These healthcare services are essential in every sense, and should be classified as such to protect the health of New Yorkers.”
