Assemblyman Chris Tague (R,C,I,Ref-Schoharie) is pleased that the Department of Justice has opened an investigation into nursing home deaths in four states during the COVID-19 pandemic, including New York. Tague has been calling for months for an independent investigation into the thousands of deaths that occurred in nursing homes throughout the state.

"An independent investigation into this matter is overdue, but I'm glad to see that after all this time families will finally be closer to having the answers they deserve after suffering unthinkable losses," said Tague. "What's important above all is that through this investigation we find out what led to this tragedy and make sure those missteps are never repeated."
