Tague Insists Impeachment Investigation Move Forward Swiftly
“While I am glad my Majority colleagues have started to come around to doing what's right by launching an impeachment investigation against the governor, I hope they will work expeditiously and sincerely to ensure we can return to doing the work of the people as soon as possible.
“Given the sheer volume of credible allegations made against the governor for a variety of horrible acts, especially (not to diminish the other serious allegation of harassment) the cover-up and obstruction of justice regarding nursing home deaths, the process of impeaching the governor is not one that should be prolonged or drawn out in any way. Using the investigation as a stall tactic in budget negotiations or for any other reason would be entirely unacceptable and disrespectful to all those impacted by the governor's actions, so I will be watching to see just how earnest this effort really is, especially after last week’s insincere attempt to remove his emergency powers.”
