OSSINING, NY: State Assemblymember Dana Levenberg recently awarded $300,000 from funds secured in the most recent state budget to thirteen organizations in Assembly District 95. The grant recipients are: 

• Bethany Arts Community for their youth arts programming ($35,000)
• Clearwater for their Hudson River Environmental Education Program ($35,000)
• Carnegie Hall for the Musical Connections program they facilitate with Sing Sing ($35,000)
• The John C. Hart Library in Shrub Oak for their Library of Things ($25,000) 
• Project Ready of Ossining & Briarcliff for vocational training and community inclusion programs for youth with developmental disabilities ($25,000)
• The Town of Philipstown for their composting program ($25,000)
• Black Diamonds in Peekskill for their college tour program ($20,000)
• The Buchanan Fire Department for brush suits ($20,000)
• Homeless Remedies Inc. of Peekskill for their JOBS training program, transportation and materials ($20,000)
• The Blue Card for their retreat program for Holocaust survivors ($20,000)
• Guardian Revival for their peer-to-peer support training program for first responders ($15,000)
• The Ossining MicroFund for non-loan programming costs ($15,000)
• Planned Parenthood Hudson Peconic for Putnam County Reproductive Health Coalition programming ($10,000)

The grants are intended to help defray the cost of projects that will help grantees better serve their surrounding communities. Of the awards, Levenberg said: “I’m proud to support these worthy projects with state funding. Each will contribute in its own way to the vibrancy of the 95th Assembly District. I look forward to seeing the innovative programming that these investments will help make possible.”

Bethany Arts Community Executive Director Bonnie Bradley said, "Bethany Arts Community is tremendously grateful for this incredible $35,000 award in support of our Youth Arts Programming made possible by Assemblymember Dana Levenberg and the New York State Legislature! This much needed funding will support a wide range of Youth Arts Programming at Bethany Arts Community and provide greater access to the arts for youth in our district. BAC Youth Arts programming includes: our annual Teen Arts Residency, Bethany Kids CREATE Saturdays, afterschool workshops, Bethany Kids CREATE Summer program, and our annual community arts festivals. More than half of our local population includes youth with economically disadvantaged backgrounds, and it is our priority to keep our programs accessible by removing barriers to entry in all ways possible."

Hudson River Sloop Clearwater Executive Director David Toman said, “So many people, young and old, have shared with me how memorable their Sloop Clearwater field trip was to them, even if it was decades ago. Clearwater greatly appreciates the opportunity to inspire more students and community members through our unique environmental education experiences that this grant will help support! We look forward to serving the constituents of Assemblymember Levenberg's District 95, and investing this grant into community awareness and connection to our great Hudson River.”

Carnegie Hall Chief Education Officer Sarah Johnson said, “Carnegie Hall is grateful to Assemblymember Levenberg for funding re-entry support, which is an essential part of our Musical Connections program. We are proud to support the men who have participated in the Hall’s musical residency at Sing Sing as they transition home. This funding helps ensure that they continue to have access to the resources and opportunities they need to thrive.”

John C. Hart Memorial Library Director Yvonne Cech said, “We are deeply grateful to Assemblymember Levenberg for this $25,000 grant which will allow us to launch a Library of Things. This innovative collection will provide residents with access to a wide range of practical, occasionally used items -- helping families save money. We will use our existing lending model and expand it to include things like tools, gardening equipment, recreational supplies and other infrequently used household items; things that can be shared efficiently rather than purchased individually, making this a very smart use of public funds- accessible to everyone in the community. We are excited to bring this valuable service to our patrons!” 

Buchanan Engine Company #1 First Assistant Chief Kieran Outhouse said, "This funding will help ensure our firefighters have the specialized protective equipment they need to safely respond to brush and wildland fires. We thank Assemblymember Levenberg for her support of Buchanan's volunteer firefighters and her investment in the safety of both our members and the Village of Buchanan."

The Blue Card Executive Director Masha Pearl said, "The Blue Card is grateful to Assemblymember Dana Levenberg for her commitment to Holocaust survivors and Holocaust education in northern Westchester and Putnam County. Thousands of Holocaust survivors remain in the greater New York City region, many living below the federal poverty line and relying on direct financial assistance for food, medical care, and housing. With the survivor population shrinking every year, investing in Holocaust education is equally critical to ensure their stories are preserved for the next generation. Funding like this ensures survivors are not forgotten. We thank Assemblymember Levenberg for standing with them."

 Black Diamonds Executive Director Martin McDonald said, “We are so thankful for the generous award of $20,000 for our 2027 Spring Break College Tour to South Carolina! Thanks to the support of Assemblymember Levenberg, we are able to provide life-changing experiences to young people who don't always have the means. When students on our trip step onto a college campus and begin to picture themselves there, they start to internalize the experience and to see themselves there, not as a visitor, but as a student. Thanks to Assemblymember Levenberg, more of our students will have the opportunity for this type of transformative experience.”

Planned Parenthood Hudson Peconic Vice President of Education and Training Michelle Gjuraj said, “The Putnam County Reproductive Health Coalition (PCRHC) works to increase access to sexual and reproductive health resources and education within Putnam and Northern Westchester. For over 8 years, professional organizations including Planned Parenthood Hudson Peconic, the Department of Mental Health, the Putnam Youth Bureau, health care professionals, and other Putnam County community members have come together to provide health education and address misconceptions about sexual and reproductive health. We are grateful to Assemblymember Dana Levenberg for contributing $10,000 in grant funding to PCRHC so we can provide workshops across the county on topics such as consent, contraception, healthy relationships, and more.”
