McDonough Pet Food Drive A Success
Assemblyman Dave McDonough (R,C-Merrick) announced the success of his annual participation in the Long Island Cares Baxter’s Pet Pantry Pet Food Drive. McDonough hosted the pet food drive, along with Long Island Cares, and this year alone he collected over 1,800 pounds of pet food. Over the past ten years, McDonough has collected over 15,000 pounds of pet food donations.
Along with the pet food drive, McDonough also has a continuous food drive with donations going to Long Island Cares and other local food pantries.
“During these tough economic times, it is imperative that we look after our fellow human beings, that is why I have always been ecstatic to partner with Long Island Cares and other local food pantries to help those struggling with food instability. It is like the old Winston Churchill quote goes, ‘We make a living by what we get, but we make a life by what we give.’ I hope everyone will join me in the fight to end hunger by considering donating food,” said McDonough.
Donations for the food drive can be dropped off at McDonough’s District Office, located at 404 Bedford Avenue, Bellmore, Monday through Friday, 9:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m.
