McDonough Leads Fight For Affordable Transportation
McDonough a leading voice during budget conference committee meetings
Assemblyman Dave McDonough (R,C,I-Merrick) recently represented the Assembly Minority delegation during the joint budget conference committee meeting on Transportation. During his remarks, Assemblyman McDonough again called for strong support for the CHIPs program, which helps fund local roads, while also urging for community colleges to be included in the MTA payroll tax exemption.
“Transportation is one of the most vital issues for our community. We rely on our roads, trains and airways to get us everywhere from across town to around the world,” said McDonough. “Right now one of the most crucial issues before us is the state of our local roads and bridges. We need to be putting an emphasis on providing our communities the resources they need, through programs like CHIPs, to reinvigorate our economy. Yesterday was simply the start to the budget negotiations, and I look forward to working with my colleagues to deliver the resources our community needs to prosper.”
