Assemblyman McDonough’s Annual School Supply Collection Drive Is Off To A Great Start!
Assemblyman Dave McDonough (R,C-Merrick), as part of his Annual School Supply Collection Drive, which benefits the John Theissen Children’s Foundation, accepted, along with John Theissen, over 200 new notebook binders from Tobi Innerfield. Ms. Innerfield, President of Quality Shredding in Deer Park, donated the binders for the School Supply Collection Drive.
“Back-to-school time can be difficult for many children whose families cannot afford new clothes or school supplies. Every child should have a chance to attend school and feel good about themselves. Studies have shown that many children do not attend the first day of school because they are too embarrassed that they do not have new supplies and clothing. New clothes and school supplies all are significant items for a child who would otherwise go without,” stated John Theissen.
Assemblyman McDonough said, “This is the reason I have joined with the John Theissen Children’s Foundation to conduct this annual drive. To help those who are less fortunate, and I applaud Ms. Innerfield for her generosity, which will go a long way toward benefiting many children who are in need of school supplies for this September.”
Assemblyman McDonough’s School Supply Collection Drive runs through August 23rd and donations can be dropped off at his district office at 404 Bedford Avenue, Bellmore, from 10:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m., which can be reached by calling (516) 409-2070.
