McDonough Donates Collected Pet Food & Supplies To Long Island Cares
Over the past two months, Assemblyman Dave McDonough’s (R,C,I-Merrick) district office has been collecting donations of pet food and supplies as part of the 3rd Annual Legislative Food Drive Challenge sponsored by Long Island Cares. This year’s food drive aimed to help local animals in need, so McDonough asked residents to make donations to support animals of all sizes in support of the cause.
“For many of us, pets are as much a part of our family as the people we’re surrounded by – this is especially true for the elderly and homebound,” said McDonough. “During these tough economic times, those pets need a little extra care and love, and that’s why I’m excited to take part in the Long Island Cares’ Annual Legislative Food Drive Challenge, to support those pets in need. My office received tremendous support from residents across our community, and now their donations will go to help local dogs, cats and more right here at home. While they can’t say thank you, I’m certain their tails will be wagging with excitement.”
