McDonough, Venditto Join Local Officials To Host Senior ID Program
Assemblyman Dave McDonough (R,C,I-Merrick) recently partnered with Nassau County Clerk Nasrin Ahmad and County Legislator Michael Venditto to host a Senior ID Program. The event provided seniors with free ID cards that include a photo and information useful to emergency medical technicians (EMT) and physicians.
“I want to thank our county legislator and town clerk for their support and participation in this program,” said McDonough. “Having the necessary information during an urgent situation can sometimes mean the difference between life and death. In the case of an automobile accident or other medical emergency, EMTs may need essential information like allergies, medications a patient is taking, or significant medical history. This program allows seniors to have this information in a defined location so first responders can access it quickly and easily.”
The town clerk's office provides FREE Town of Hempstead Senior ID Cards, complete with a resident's personal data, physicians' contact information, and emergency phone numbers. Allergies and other vital information also can be printed on these wallet-sized cards. Seniors who were unable to attend but would like to participate can attend the next program on May 9 at the Bellmore Library located at 2288 Bedford Avenue in Bellmore from 10:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. You also can download the application form at: http://www.townofhempstead.org/files/pdfs/tc_senior-id-appl.pdf.
