McDonough Announces Free Public Wi-Fi At Jones Beach
Assemblyman Dave McDonough (R,C,I-Merrick) joined with New York State Parks Commissioner, Rose Harvey, in announcing the availability of free public wireless internet at Jones Beach State Park in Wantagh. McDonough praised the addition of this initiative which is the result of a public private partnership with NYS Parks, American Parks and Toyota. He said this new service is an important step in bringing new tourists to Jones Beach and modernizing state parks around the state.
“Jones Beach is the crown jewel of the New York State Parks system and is the largest public bathing facility in the world,” McDonough said. “Working with these partners to launch the Wi-fi program is an additional benefit to all the visitors who come to Jones Beach.”
McDonough’s statement comes after an announcement that access to free wireless service will now be available at Jones Beach, Saratoga Spa, Niagara Falls, and East River State Parks. This is the result of a pilot program supported by Toyota Prius Plug-In Hybrid and will be of no cost to taxpayers.
