McDonough Joins Colleagues For Animal Advocacy Day In Albany
Assemblyman Dave McDonough (R,C,I-Merrick) joined his legislative colleagues for Animal Advocacy Day in Albany Wednesday, where many legislators brought their pets and spent time enjoying the company of several types of animals. This is an opportunity to raise awareness about animal rights legislation and help needy pets find homes.
“I had a great time meeting my colleagues’ pets on Wednesday,” McDonough said. “I look forward to this day because I know the joy and comfort a pet can bring into a person’s life, and I want to make the public aware of the opportunity to find a compatible pet and help combat animal abuse and neglect. My hope is that the Assembly will consider legislation passed on Wednesday in the Senate and bring to light the need to further protect companion animals in New York State.”
